Alive 'n kickin! queer playback show
@ LFest weekend 13 -16 July 2012

Queer Playback is delighted to be performing again at LFest - it's an exciting lesbian arts and music camping weekend next to the riverside in beautiful Shrewsbury, UK.  We are also running a playback drama workshop so you can practice some of the methods and skills used in playback theatre as well as getting another chance to share your stories.

Queer Playback Performers will  include: Jane Hoy (Wales), Mar Gonga (Spain), Mich Jamieson (Hertfordshire) and Alice Faber (Holland).

LFest takes place from  Friday 13 to Monday 16 July 2012. There's an amazing line up of artists and performers including Sarah Waters of Tipping the Velvet fame and loads of things to do and see including riverboat trips, a masked ball and an Edwardian music hall cabaret.

See you there! To find out more go to www.lfest.co.uk.

  1. Really enjoyed our workshop with Jane. Particularly proud of my gf who I had persuaded to come with me. She has never done a Drama session in her life and I was so impressed with her. Drama was my main subject as part of my Teacher training and I have taught the subject as part of my Primary school teaching over the last 30 plus years. Having taken early retirement last year, it was lovely to dip into Drama again.
Hope you will be at L Fest next year and that you get a performance slot that doesnt clash with Greymatter or Horse. Wanted to split ourselves in two at five o'clock on Sunday ! Thanks again- we both enjoyed the session so very much and loved all the group too- especially warming to see the young girl's confidence blossom - the two Julies.

  2. Thanks for that lovely feedback 'two Julies'!

For non LFestas, Jane from QPT ran a playback workshop to which 15 wonderful women came, from all age groups and ethnicities. We played games, practised improvisation and learnt some playback forms. Everyone told their stories as part of the workshop and it was very heartwarming and great fun. Jane Hoy
